Hello from Texas!
I am researching the origins of Anton Šir. He was born ~16 May 1872 (naturalization papers, passenger arrival manifest, US census records, Minnesota death record). He married Anna Bukáček in ~March 1896 in Odranec, Věcov, Žďár nad Sázavou. They immigrated in June 1903 via Hamburg-Ellis Island.
I have found Anna Bukáček's birth record on actapublica.eu.
I have looked in the Sněžné Parish records on actaplubica as well, but the only Anton born in the parish ~1872 is Anton Srnský in 1873. I cannot confirm that this is the correct person because both the date and surname do not match. In a family biography, there is a statement that Anton came to work near the Bukáček farm at the age of 8. It speculates he was born nearby. I can check all the surrounding parishes and hope to find the correct person.
But what I really need are the 1890 and 1900 census records for Anton Šir's family in Odranec. These will tell me his birthplace. Otherwise, it's a needle in a haystack.
This research is for a client in Minnesota who is unable to pay for research. If there is a kind soul on this site who is able to get me the documents I need, it would be much appreciated. I would be willing to work out some kind of research exchange. Anton Šir is her grandfather. She knows nothing about his life before he immigration to America, his parents, siblings, etc.
On a different note: I want to find the marriage record to Anna Bukáček, and the birth records of their children Franz, and Antonin. I want to find if there were other children born, who died young. All of these records are after 1894, which is the last record I found on actapublica. I contacted the MZA v Brně about how to access the Sněžné parish records after 1894 - is there a list of records that have been digitized? Is it unavailable because it contains records that are too late, so the law says I can't see it? Would a researcher on site be able to access these records? Are they located somewhere other than the MZA v Brně?
I was given the genealogy query form, but no answers to my questions. Do any of you know the answers?
Thank you so much -
Kate
