Hello,
My ancestors surname was Tůma and they lived in Kojetice 41 (from 1839.
On the map I found the street in Kojetice named Tůmovka. Does anybody know the history behind that name?

Thank you,

It was inn on the road (coaching inn), e.g. on the road from Prague to Melnik. (road was crossing river Elbe at st. Stephan ferry). It still holds Nr. 41.

(1842)

According to this map (2nd half 19th century), it was called "Novy Svet" (New world) too.

Dont´t know how old it is, but Nr. 41 appeared 1841 in bornregister. According to first appearing Nr. 40, 39,38 in the years not far from 1841 I would think that this inn was built around 1840 and named after first owner Tůma. (Václav innkeeper son of Jan Tůma binder from Klecan).
