Ahoj, Czech Friends!
My name is Barbara, I live in Poland and my family research led me to the border between our countries.
My last research showed that my ancestor came from Pruchna. I found some records for Pruchna online from Opava Zemsky Archiv and I'd like to ask you about them, as they are described only in czech and I am not sure, what did I just read and this is important because I didn't find my ancestor there.
Here is my ancestor's death record from Golasowice, Poland. It shows that he came from Pruchna and also many important dates from his life. According to the record he was 73 at death, so he was probably born ca. 1789.
I found the death record of his first wife in Golasowice, 1840, so they must already have been there then. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to search more earlier records and establish the date of migration more precisely. I only checked the year 1833 for his son's Paul's birth and I didn't find it.
It is the more strange to me, as I didn't find a single person with the surname Swierzy or Swieży among the records for Pruchna. On the other hand, polish maps show that this is the region where surnames Swierzy and Surma are the most common, so the idea they came from this area is rather correct.
1. I think there are only marriages and deaths online, am I right? Where are the births?
2. Are all the villages together in the records? I didn't find a single record for Pruchna among them.
3. Where else can I search?
Thank you!
